Desperate Housewives of Avalon I haven t read any other books in Saranna s series of Desperate Wives, but this story appealed to me because of the characters origins Avalon Absolutely I ll advise ahead of time that this story did just fine as a stand alone because I never found myself confused This story takes characters from both myth and legend, combining an array of gods and goddesses and mixing them well with powerful figures from Avalon, displaying a possibility after the happily ever after.Main concept in the st I haven t read any other books in Saranna s series of Desperate Wives, but this story appealed to me because of the characters origins Avalon Absolutely I ll advise ahead of time that this story did just fine as a stand alone because I never found myself confused This story takes characters from both myth and legend, combining an array of gods and goddesses and mixing them well with powerful figures from Avalon, displaying a possibility after the happily ever after.Main concept in the story is Artemis is finally convinced that she is ready to, how Saranna puts so politely, punch her V card and lose her chastity Having never been with a man before, Artemis isn t sure on how to attain her goal Who better to assist than the goddess of love herself, Aphrodite To facilitate her plan, the two goddesses embark on a vacation trip located nowhere else but the fabled Avalon, where Guinevere and Arthur have all but had their happy endings I enjoyed the creativity of each individual s status, the tongue in cheek and other places humor and the colorful descriptions of both persons and place The story continued to surprise asandmayhem was tossed into the pot, resulting in an often funny and touching romance sure to please.Recommended for readers looking for a romance with perk and perks, as the scenes are steamy while retaining wit Goddesses on holiday Book 2 is just as good as book 1 Loved the addition of the Arthurian legend, what a tangled web they all weave Very entertaining read xx The Desperate Crew is back with a romp through resort island, Avalon Aphrodite convinces Artemis it s past time for her to get her V card punched Artemis doesn t want any messy entanglements, has a taste for bad boys, and the sexy Mordred Le Fey fits the bill Too bad he s cursed by the Lady of the LakeAphrodite has had her fill of Love being used as a curse and decides to give Vivienne her comeuppance She ends up with trials of her own when all she wanted was a vacationSecretly, Vivienne thinks she deserves to be punished because she s been in love with Arthur since she handed him Excalibur and engineered the fall of Guinevere and CamelotGwen s marriage to Lancelot has been in name only sincea fact that s only made Avalon s resident evil enchantress, Morgan Le Fey, too happyCome along for the ride as these goddesses take control of their Fate or so they think and find their Happily Ever Afters I totally love this book it takes a whole new spin on the King Arthur Legends all your favorite characters are still there Artemis and Aphrodite along with all of the classic King Arthur characters I can t wait to start the next book I totally recommend this one I ll review this novel as the book it wants to be, so I won t be taken in consideration the fact that its genre is not one of my favourite ones but I ve read some romance or porn ish novels. The story is quite linear but a bit fast as I didn t buy that a simple event suddenly changed all the love lives of all these people, so it appearedlike a puzzle of different parallel but indipendent short stories than a novel.Artemis wants to lose her virginity and she has a preference for bad boys s I ll review this novel as the book it wants to be, so I won t be taken in suddenly changed all the love lives of all these people, so it appearedlike a puzzle of different parallel but indipendent short stories than a novel.Artemis wants to lose her virginity and she has a preference for bad boys so Aphrodite suggests Mordred She goes to Avalon where Gwen and Lancelot just broke up and Gwen starts to see Arthur again, while Lancelot is seduced by Morgana At the same time, Viviane cruses Mordred to fall in love with the next person he ll kiss, and Aphrodite arrives as well and basically plays matchmaker between Viviane in love with Arthur and Hector de Maris. So That s a handful.Something very generic but positive about this novel was the friendship about the main characters All these women don t compete for the men, they become friends especially Morgana and Guinevere or Morgana and Vivienne and in general talk without much animosity Something very generic but very negative the sex It was mostly amusing than hot and I often laughed out loud at some parts.I ll consider each story separately, so there ll be spoilers view spoiler GWEN and Arthur While I liked Gwen s character, I wasn t overly fond of her love story She started wonderfully and the break up with Lancelot was quite original, but then the story with Arthur started and I think it suffered of Arthur being a little flat MORGANA and Lancelot This was definitely the best story among the various ones Morgana comes out as an interesting character and the development doesn t look forced or rushed, also because she had always had feelings for Lancelot Her story with Lancelot also focuses a lot on how to overcome the fact that Morgana tricked him with Elaine and Morgana s doubts about Lancelot not loving her, but just induldging her because of fear Their love story felt real and Morgana had also quite some developmente away from her love story like becoming the lady of the lake in Avalon.ARTEMIS and Mordred Mordred is cursed to love whoever he will kiss and Artemis wants to lose her virginity At the beginning I was EH meh No , but it got better I have a weakness for this kind of suffering Mordred, and at least by the end the curse was broken and he found himself really in love with Artemis for who she was and what they had At the end, this story was cute, very cute Kudos to make me smile at their love and happy ending and his reconciliation with his motherMorgana.VIVIANNE and Hector While I liked her story when it got close to the other women s stories, her love with Hector was terrible Just terrible Hector was basically her foster child, but then after years and years he is an adult and Aphrodite convinces Vivianne to think about him as a man Ew.APHRODITEI was surprised I liked her story She starts with being in love with Ares and then wanting to seduce Aeron the Welsh god of battle to make Ares jealous But at the end, Aphrodite decides to leave Ares, understanding that they are not meant to be as they want things which are too different, without the motivation being her new love So I thought it was definitely original, and Aeron was quite fun hide spoiler Another great entry in the Desperate Housewives of Olympus series The drama did not dissappoint and neither the romance or the ridiculousness. the first before, it is a stand alone, but I would highly recommend it.I love the writer s style, her dialog and story concept really kept me entertained and reading to find out what was happening next I am a sucker for witty and snarky dialog and this book is filled with it I love the whole campy drama feel of the books, that do have the feel of those good old Friday night shows when I was a kid Dallas and Falcon Crest and then you throw in the Gods and Goddess aspect and you make a geeky girl happy, happy. So in this second story Aphrodite talks Artemis into taking a vacation in Avalon and while on vacation hopefully Artemis will get her V Card punched And who do they set their sights on being the lucky fellow, Mordred It seems since the fall of Camelot, Avalon has become a resort where Gods and Goddesses go to relax or take a romp on Arthur because it seems he has become somewhat of a man whore since Gwen left him for Lancelot Speaking of that happy couple, well the grass is not always greener and Lancelot walks out on Gwen Lancelot ends up in Morgan Le Fey s bar and things heat up from there Love is in the air all over the place on Avalon, we have Arthur and Gwen getting back together, we have the Vivienne, the Lady of the Lake fighting her feelings for her guard, who is younger than she is and you have Aphrodite herself at a crossroads with Ares, her long time love and father of her children and the sexy, tattooed McBangable Areon. There are so many machinations going on it is fun to watch which ones work out and which ones don t I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book, especially if we find out about what is going to happen with Aphrodite and her triangle.I great read, I highly recommend And I have to say I love the cover too 4.5 stars Greek mythology weaves beautifully with Arthurian legend in DeWylde s story of gods and goddesses, plus a few lucky mortals, vacationing on the island of Avalon Artemis, goddess of the hunt and the eternal virgin, decides she wants someone to rid her of her pesky maidenhood, and asks her BFF, Aphrodite, goddess of love, to help a sister out Avalon is renown for supplying just what Artemis needs, so the two take off for a little fun in the sun Just like in real life, if only it was that easy.I Greek mythology weaves beautifully with Arthurian legend in DeWylde s story of gods and goddesses, plus a this whole book so much, but one of my favorite scenes happens right up front Artemis and Aphrodite exchanging euphemisms had me rolling I wrote them ALL down to add immediately to my own vocabulary. All the couples have their own energy and vibe, so it is hard to choose a favorite Mordred s suavity and his mutual hunt with Artemis is hot, hot, hot But what is wrong with me that Lancelot napping in his cheese fries is just as appealing Actually the answer to that is just what makes Avalon stand out in a shelf full of wham bam the end romances DeWylde delves into the psychology that stands in the way of Happily Ever After Mommy issues, control conflicts and self doubt plague the gods just like us ordinary mortals I didn t realize until seeing other reviews that Desperate Housewives of Avalon takes place mid series All the friendships, feuds and uneasy alliances are so clear and complete this easily works as a stand alone novel That said, I can t wait to back up and find out what I missed I think I have found a new series to fall in love with This story is book 2 in the series dealing with my favorite characters in mythology This deals with the characters from the legend of Aurthor It was a great book and I cannot wait for. I was not sure if the author could keep up the easy banter and delicious coolness of the first book but I have to say this one was even better This time the desperate houswives come down from Olympus and find themselves in the magic isle of Avalon yes, complete with Arthur and his knights of the round table and the lady of the lake and even an absolutely delicious Irish war god in the mix We follow different pairs and read lots of heartbreak but lots of romance and intrigues too plus hilario I was not sure if the author could keep up the easy banter and delicious coolness of the first book but I have to say this one was even better This time the desperate houswives come down from Olympus and find themselves in the magic isle of Avalon yes, complete with Arthur and his knights of the round table and the lady of the lake and even an absolutely delicious Irish war god in the mix We follow different pairs and read lots of heartbreak but lots of romance and intrigues too plus hilarious scenes sprinkled in I laughed, I cried, I liked them all but my heart fully goes to Mordred I would have wanted him to getunderstanding, to be shownthat he is not only good for the one thing and the one thing only, it really stabbed me deep how he sees himself only as a weapon, never good enough for love or even being able to love himself it was a great story, I fully enjoyed it and couldn t stop reading so I ended it in the middle of the night even so I had to get up real early the next day and now I have to buy Ares because I want to know how he redeems himself and finds his very own HEA
