Impressive book, I really liked the imagination of the story, however the depth of emotions and the behavior that the characters have really seems inconsistent with their age Otherwise I think this is a great graphic novel.

Mysterious school CheckOptimistic if not too bright heroine CheckDour, cynical, yet good hearted sidekick CheckSuper strong living teddy bear Ch What While the series doesn t appear to be subverting the mysterious school genre, it at least has some interesting bells and whistles Worth taking a shot.

Here is another manga that I haven t decided yet if I will continue following The premise is pretty simple, and pretty familiar Mikan is trying to get into a special school for Alices, because her best friend Hotaru is going there now As she discovers, Alices have a magical ability that can be powerful and even destructive Her Alice is a mystery to her until the end of the volume, but most readers will figure it out very early on So yes, it is rather like X Men in some ways, except that the Here is another manga that I

Reread The art and the worldbuilding in this series are both sketchy Despite these shortcomings, this story caught me up early on and carried me all the way through the volumes that were translated until Tokyopop stopped its run a little over ten years ago There s always something new going on, and the characters are fun A nice, light read with hints of darkness now and then.

I ve always been careful about what shojo manga I read, because normally as is the case with this I slowly begin to hate it But when I watched the anime for this I was drawn in by the cuteness of these kids and Natsume s love for Mikan forgive me if those aren t their names it s been a hot minute and Milan s gradual love for Natsume It was all so simple in the anime with a nice climax and a nice ending, so what happened with the manga Around the halfway point the point everyone says is t I ve always been careful about what shojo m

This is actually much better than I expected It s like a cute, shoujo cross between X men and Hollowfeilds I have to wonder why they refer to a child s special ability as an Alice , since that seems like such a random name for it the only reference I can think of is Alice in Wonderland, falling down the rabbit hole into a place where the rules are upside down and inside out The cutesy friendship centered surface of the story belies the depth of the plot The children are surprisingly violen This is actually much better than I expected It s lik

I kept hearing that this was the next Fruits Basket as that s what TP wants you to believe, and though I was dubious I was charmed right away by this first volume It skews a bit younger than Fruits Basket, by virtue of the fact that it s about elementary school students, but the cute art, silly sense of humor, and magical circumstances do give it a similar appeal to Fruits Basket I was initially unsure as to whether teens would be put off by the young age of the heroine she s 10 but I don I kept hearing that this was the next Fruits Basket as that

It was okay, but not really my thing Stories starring school age children that are ABOUT the school tend to feature a lot of elements that I don t have any patience for any the something special about the school, the hierarchy and the resulting cliques, etc Just, no Not for me.
