The Murder Room g19121This collection is similar to Ito s Frankenstein in that it s split into two parts The first is centred around a town in which peopleo to crossroads to ask people to tell them their fortune The second is a collection of short stories Both seem to be mostly "older works of his As expected with Ito s work a lot of stuff oes unexplained lmao but "works of his As expected with Ito s work a lot of stuff oes unexplained lmao but me s the absurdity combined with the rotesue imagery that I find In any way I had "a ood time reading this one and i "good time reading this one and I those who end up picking it up when it comes out will do so too 18121It s is probably not a A Christmas Melody good idea to read this at midnight in the darkWill report back in about an hour or two lolupdate fell asleep lmaoAlso thank you Viz for letting me read an online advanced copy of this one Ito s one of my favourite mangaka You can find me onYoutube Instagram Twitter Tumblr Website The Storygraph trigger warningview spoiler traumarief suicide self harm setting yourself on fire miscarriage child murder kidnapping mental illness bullying mass hysteria ore mass suicide being force fed hide spoiler Thanks to Netgalley for providing a copy in exchange for an honest reviewJunji Ito is a legend in horror manga His imagination is vivid he creates the most unsettling imagery that is haunting and disturbing and the build up of his horror is radual and terrifying in its pay off However the only issue I have with his storytelling at times is the lack of explanation in his tales. An innocent love becomes a bloody hell in another superb collection by master of horror Junji ItoRyusuke returns to the town he once lived in because rumors are swirling about irls killing them. ,
Nd becoming really weird in some sort of crescendo "like Ito often does The last ones are just short stories on their own and honestly some "Ito often does The last ones are just short stories on their own and honestly some very average two are ood enough but the first part is definitely the best Junito Ito again just yelling in my head is now a sure read for me for anything new he will publish and I still have some back reading to do of his "Less Noticeable Work I Should I Don T Know What "noticeable work I should I don t know what expected but it sure wasn t this I m a huge Junji Ito fan I ve read lots of other books of his and yet it s been a while so I was just floored by the art in this Gorgeous Some Luck graphiclorious ore that had me asping on just about every page The title story Loveickness was undoubtedly my favorite and the one with the siblings after was a bit slapstick for me but Lovesickness was just Mating Claire glorious Just beautiful I d say it s now probably my favorite story of his but the others in the book I didn t like super love so Iotta ive it a bit less stars for that especially the final one Likenot sure why that was the final story It seemed to not fit the others at all Still this is worth picking up for the title story you won t regret that Just amazing lovely images of ore and The Captive guts that makes me want too back and reread it again Thank you to NetGalley and Viz Media for letting me read this ARC in exchange for an honest review I feel so icky after finishing this collection in the very best way this is lovely Ito work both in image and storytelling. Th the strikingly bloody “Lovesickness” this volume collects ten stories showcasing horror master Junji Ito in peak form including “The Strange Hikizuri Siblings” and “The Rib Woman”.
